You walk away withEvery design in your colors with your logo, in one click, for as long as you use Canva.

What you need

  • Your logo as a picture file. A PNG with no background is best.
  • Your brand colors. If you have the color codes, great. If not, Canva can pull them from your logo.
  • A headshot you like.
  • A paid Canva plan, or a brokerage account. With a brokerage account your kit is probably already loaded, so this takes five minutes instead of twenty.

The steps

One step open at a time. Click "Done, next" to move on. The grey boxes show what the screen looks like; they are pictures, not buttons.

  1. On the Canva home page, look down the left side and click Brand. This is where your kit lives.

With a brokerage account you may already see kits here. At eXp there are several; the word in class was to use the top one. If you are not sure which one is right, ask your marketing team before you pick.

Several kits? Use the top one.

  2. Inside the kit you will see spots for logos, colors and fonts. Upload your logo. Add your colors with the plus button. Pick a heading font and a body font.

    • Keep it to three or four colors. More than that and nothing matches.
    • Add your headshot here too, or keep it in Uploads. Either way it is one click away from now on.
    • On the free plan a kit holds three colors. Paid plans hold more, and let you keep several kits.

  3. Open any design. On the left side, click the Brand tab. The menu at the top of that panel switches between kits if you have more than one. Your logos and colors are right there to drag in.

  4. A design made by AI, or a template, rarely arrives in your colors. Do not fix it one piece at a time. In the Brand tab, under Colors, point at one of your color sets and click Shuffle. Canva swaps the whole page into your colors. Click Shuffle again for a different mix.

    • Choose Apply to all pages to change the whole design, not just this page.
    • Shuffle is part of paid Canva plans. It does not recolor photos.

  5. When someone shares a design with you and you can edit it, you are editing the real one. Change it and it changes for everyone who has it. Brad sent a seller guide to ten people once, and the first person rewrote it for the other nine.

So before you touch a shared design, make your own copy and work in that.

Watch out for

  1. Sharing one of yours? Send a copy.

Make a copy of your template and share the copy. Keep the original to yourself, so nobody can rewrite it for everyone else.

  2. Stay inside the brokerage kit.

Your own logo and headshot are fine. Off-brand colors and fonts are what get designs flagged. If you see several company kits, ask which one is current.

  3. Shuffle changes colors, not pictures.

Photos and logos keep their own colors. If a logo clashes, use the Background Remover guide instead.
